The coming Formula One season will feature an unprecedented 18 races after the FIA confirmed on Friday that the French Grand Prix will be included on the 2004 calendar.
The Magny-Cours race, which will take place on July 4, was originally granted a provisional slot, subject to the satisfactory conclusion of a contract with Formula One Management by the end of 2003 and the agreement of all the teams.
Now, following a meeting on Friday between FIA President, Max Mosley, Formula One Management President, Bernie Ecclestone, and the Formula One Team Principals, the French race's provisional status has been removed.
