Schumacher makes tsunami charity pledge
|
Michael Schumacher is to donate US$10 million to the victims of the South Asian tsunami tragedy, his manager Willi Webber announced on Tuesday. Webber made the pledge on the world champions behalf during a fundraising event on German television.
What happened to all those people is incomprehensibly tragic and its impossible not to keep thinking about it, said Schumacher on his official website. Our thoughts are with them, and we hope that they will be spared further disastrous events."
Around 150,000 people are believed to have died in the December 26 disaster, with millions more left homeless, after earthquakes caused huge waves to engulf coastlines throughout the region.
