Manchester to welcome BMW Saubers Pit Lane Park
|
With tickets to the British Grand Prix selling out quickly, BMW Sauber are to provide an exciting distraction to those not lucky enough to attend the Silverstone race. The German-Swiss team will install their Pit Lane Park in Manchester over the weekend of the July event, at the UK citys Trafford Centre shopping complex.
The attraction, which boasts interactive Formula One exhibitions and a state-of-the-art 110-metre asphalt track, will be open to all visitors, free of charge from July 4-6. Themed garages, driving simulators and the ever-popular Pit Stop Challenge are just some of the other activities designed to bring fans closer to Formula One racing.
Visitors will also get the chance to see several drivers demonstrate their skills behind the wheel. With the teams Formula One line-up busy at Silverstone, Brazilian Augusto Farfus, currently competing for BMW in the World Touring Car Championship, will drive the team's F1 car.
Reigning Formula BMW UK champion Marcus Ericsson and local hero Matt Howson will also be in action, taking charge of the Formula BMW car. The attraction will open its doors from 1100 hours on Friday, July 4.
