BAR continued their endless development of the 006. The winglets, an evolution of those seen briefly at Silverstone, were, in fact, cleverly-shaped chimneys, designed to improve both airflow management and hot air venting. More efficient engine cooling was of particular benefit in Hungary's high August temperatures.
